Creators

Most creators share a single Bot. 6 creators have more than one verified public Bot listed:

How we count and verify

A Bot counts as verified public only when its canonical x.ai/bot share page passes three checks: the page loads, it shows the "Add to Grok Bot" action and its title names the Bot and its creator. Submitted names and descriptions are replaced with what the share page says, and each share link can be listed once. The check runs when a Bot is submitted and again on a rolling daily schedule that starts with the Bots checked longest ago. A Bot whose page fails three checks in a row is marked as unavailable on its page; it is never silently deleted.

Blueprints are setups written by GrokShelf. They are useful starting points but they are not public Bots, so they are excluded from every count on this page except the Blueprint total.

This page reads the same database as the rest of the site and refreshes every few minutes. It covers Bots listed on GrokShelf, not every public Grok Bot in existence: we haven't found an official count of public Grok Bots published by xAI. To have a Bot counted, submit its x.ai share link.

Dated observations

  • August 11, 2026. xAI launches Grok Bot as a beta, describing it as a team of always-on agents (xAI).
  • August 29, 2026. GrokShelf adds its first batch of public Bots, each matched to its creator's launch post on X.
  • September 28, 2026. Team Bots extend sharing from individuals to whole teams (our coverage).
  • October 28, 2026. Grok Bot adds a Shared Bots admin page for managing every Bot a team shares (our coverage).
  • October 30, 2026. GrokShelf switches to real-time submissions: a Bot goes live as soon as its share page verifies. The same day, two listings are removed, one whose x.ai page returned 404 and one whose description didn't match its Bot.
  • October 30, 2026. A full re-check of all 47 public Bots listed at the time: all 47 pages passed, one of them on a second attempt after a temporary failure.
  • October 31, 2026. Only 6 of 47 public Bots declare specific connected apps (currently 6 of 84). Share pages rarely list them, so GrokShelf records an app only when the creator names it.

Questions about this data

How many public Grok Bots are there?

GrokShelf currently lists 84 verified public Grok Bots. That is a floor, not a total: it counts Bots whose creators shared an x.ai/bot link publicly and that reached GrokShelf through submission or our own discovery. Bots shared only inside a team, through Team Bots, are private and never appear here.

How often is this page updated?

The numbers are computed from the live directory and refresh every few minutes. Verification dates change as the rolling daily re-check works through the list, oldest first. The dated observations below the tables are fixed records of what we saw on a given day and are not rewritten.

Why are some Bots missing a launch post on X?

Bots submitted directly through GrokShelf only need a working x.ai share link. We link a launch post when the creator has published one and we can match it to the Bot; we don't guess.

Can I use these numbers?

Yes. Please cite them as "GrokShelf, Grok Bot directory statistics, accessed [date]" and link to this page, so readers can see the current figures and the method behind them.

What these numbers suggest

The ecosystem is young and personal. Most public Bots come from individual builders rather than companies, nearly all of them announced their Bot on X and research, productivity and coding are the most crowded jobs. That matches what Grok Bot is built for: jobs that run on a schedule, read before they write and check in for approval, which is exactly what research briefings, inbox triage and code review need.

For picks within those jobs, see the best Grok Bots for coding, research and productivity. If you're new to Grok Bots, start with what a Grok Bot is, or browse every verified shared Bot.
